Room 227 [Thursday Morning]
Jul. 12th, 2007 10:10 amBridge... really hadn't done much of anything, since Tuesday evening. And now it was Thursday morning and he is still asleep. Or at least, trying to sleep.
I've got a smile on my face, I've got four walls around me
I've got the sun in the sky, all the water surrounds me
Oh you know, I've been down and sometimes I'll lose
I've been battered, but I'll never bruise, it's not so bad
"RIC, turn the radio off please..." he grumbles.
And I say way-hey-hey, it's just an ordinary day
and it's all your state of mind
At the end of the day,
you've just got to say... it's all right.
"I said *off*, not *up*!" Bridge says in exasperation. "RIC!" RIC makes a confused elephant noise and shakes his head. "It's not you? Then what... oh, forget it." He shoves a pillow over his head, and that works for about a minute. Until the volume increases.
Cuz in this beautiful life there's always some sorrow
It's a double-edged knife, but there's always tomorrow
Oh you know, It's up to you now if you sink or swim,
Just keep the faith and your ship will come in, it's not so bad
"Okay, okay, I'm up," Bridge says, stumbling out of bed.
And I say way-hey-hey, it's just an ordinary day
and it's all your state of mind
At the end of the day,
you've just got to say... it's all right.
Bridge can't help but feel there's something of a smug tone in that last line. Which is odd because he's heard this song before and that tone definitely wasn't there *then*. Weird.
[ooc: establishy, as I'm being put to work in the kitchen. no, not cooking. reassembling it.]
