Thursday Afternoon [Room 227]

Bridge was sprawled on his bed, notebook open to a page of schematics, and a multitude of assorted parts scattered on the bedspread around him.

The door was propped open with a box containing the parts of a disassembled television set.

Willow knocked on the doorframe, her laptop in hand. "Hey, Bridge."

Bridge looks up. "Willow! Hey!" he says, not at all nervously. "Uh, come in."

"I brought my laptop," she said, holding it up for him to see. "Which is my baby, my life, my blood, and currently the only thing holding anything resembling notes and useful information for my academic career. There is what one might call symbolism in this gesture of me bringing it to you."

"I... okay." Bridge says, looking a bit sheepish. "You have to understand, I have this whole dissection... thing. Kind of a fear because I'm pretty sure there are people back where I'm from who actually *would* dissect me if they could and so I may have overheard something and that may have freaked me out a little and I'm gonna stop with the rambling now."

"Oh," Willow said. She folded the laptop up against her chest. "Sorry. I didn't mean actual dissection and I didn't know you were there and I don't mean that I would've meant it if you weren't there but it's just that Xander and demons have been really common before, like 100% of the time common unless you don't count Cordelia but if you knew Cordelia you'd know that you should. And Xander and I have been friends since we were wee little cells and I'm really really protective of him but he says he can trust you and I know that I can trust him so - " she held the laptop out "Here. Symbol."

Bridge takes the laptop and puts it down on the bed. "Protectiveness I can totally understand." He says with a nod. "And I'm trustable. Very much so. It sort of comes with the territory."

"The territory... of being Xander's boyfriend?" Willow asked. "Not that I disagree or anything."

"Well, more the territory of being me." Bridge admits. "I have these- um, I'm psychic. Well, and also training to be a cop but, yes."

"Xander told me about the psychic," Willow said. She glanced towards the open door and lowered her voice for privacy. "He said you could be trusted with secrets."

Jamie is still doing the wandering thing. He sticks his head into the door and gives Bridge a wave. "Hey Bridge."

"Hey, dude." Bridge waves back.

"What's going on?"

Bridge shrugs. "Working on a project. So... business as usual for me, really."

"Oh yeah? What's your business?" Jamie asked all interested like.

"Fixing stuff. Also building custom electronics, but that's always a bit more chancy."

"Why is that? Is it dangerous?"

"Not exactly?" Bridge shrugs. "I just... make whatever feels right. Sometimes they don't turn out exactly as I expect. Not in a bad way."

Xander pokes his head around the doorframe sometime after everybody else leaves omg. He's got a notebook too, though his is tucked under his arm and a pencil shoved behind his ear.

"Hey!" He waves with the other arm and starts to come in. "Whatcha working on?"

Bridge looks up. "Hi!" Oh, quick, think of something! "Uh. Trying to figure out how I built this," he picks up a spherical object off one of the shelves by his bed, "so that I can do it again."

Which was true, he *was* trying to work that out. Just... not at this moment.

Xander blinks at said object. "...what is it?"

Bridge flips a switch and tosses the sphere in Xander's direction. It stops about halfway and hovers in midair.

"A clock. Sort of."

Okay, so you know, Hellmouth and Fandom and anyway Willow can hover pencils, which is actually pretty nifty in its own right, but the point being Xander should be jaded by stuff that should be a CGI effect but isn't. But he isn't.

"It floats. That's...very cool."

"Also makes root beer floats. And... tells the local time for major cities on like, a bazillion planets as far as I can tell." Bridge says. "So what've you been up to?" he asks, with a nod in the notebook's direction.

Xander stares at the thing for a second. "Does it also do windows?"

He snickers, then shakes his head and pulls out the notebook. "Been trying to come up with workshop stuff that won't have people either falling asleep or throwing popcorn at me."

"I sincerely doubt there'll be any shenannigans of the falling asleep or throwing popcorn sort in your workshop," Bridge says solemnly, before bouncing over to the bed that... wasn't completely covered in stuff. "Can I see? Or would that be unethical?"
