Secluded Spot on the Beach [Sunday Evening]

Bridge has a blanket spread out on the sand and takeout cartons from Ching Tai arranged on the blanket. Now all he needs is the person he's set this up *for*.

"Very ritzy," Xander says, walking down the beach to where Bridge's directions have lead him.

"I thought about hiring a band but I didn't want to overdo it," Bridge replies.

"Good thinking." Xander drops down onto the blanket and grins. "No room on the blanket for a band, anyway."

"And they probably would have demanded dinner too, which really would just ruin the whole atmosphere of the evening instead of adding to it," Bridge rolls his eyes exaggeratedly.

"It's not their anniversary, after all," Xander points out.

"Exactly," Bridge says. "This is *our* day and I'm not sharing it."

"Technically I think everybody gets to have a day today," Xander says as he finds himself a plate and grabs one of the Chinese food cartons. "They just can't have it on our blanket."

"Okay, I guess I can live with that," Bridge decides.

Xander switches out for another carton, throwing a variety of noodles and stuff-in-sauce on his plate. "So did you get to meet any of the new kids? Willow hadn't yet, when I asked her yesterday."

"Adam Park," Bridge says, reaching over with his fork to... snag some noodles off Xander's plate. "And *Andros*. And also Michelangelo who's my little brother and a human-sized turtle but from New York and not an alien or anything."

"Why do you sound more surprised about the Andros guy than the human-sized turtle?"

"Because he's yet another person from my dimension's past, and grown-up him was the one who gave me my TK ball to practice on, and there's that whole trying not to break time thing. I'm carrying a sock, just in case."

"You had me right up to the sock part."

Bridge pulls a wadded-up (CLEAN!) sock out of one of his jacket pockets. "To stuff in Conner's mouth," he offers as explanation. "Just in case he starts talking about things he shouldn't."

Xander blinks. "When I think about how much better life could've been in Sunnydale if Willow had just carried one of those around with her everytime she was with me..."

"And speaking of Willow, I'm apparently rooming with her now. Or, well. Cabining. I think you should tell her that painting my gloves is not allowed."

"She threatened to paint your gloves? What, freezing bras is out of style now?"

"I don't have one of those," Bridge points out. "Well, except for those times when I was a girl. But no. It was in lieu of painting fingernails."

"You could let her paint your toenails. Not a lot of chance of people...most people...seeing 'em." Xander is totally not speaking from experience with Willows.

"I could," Bridge muses. "But only if you promise not to laugh."

Xander looks as innocent as humanly possible.

Bridge attempts a very stern glare in response to that.

Xander attempts to stuff a piece of sweet and sour chicken in Bridge's mouth.

"Mmph!" is all Bridge has to say in reply to that.

"I promise not to laugh, but I don't promise not to smirk. Is that an acceptable compromise?"
