Echolls Estate [Saturday Evening]

The ballroom of the mansion is done up in the same mostly-green colour scheme as the wedding ceremony. There's no assigned seating- unless you're in the wedding party, and then you're at the head table (unless you felt like moving around, of course, because gluing people to their seats was not part of the plan)- just several small tables around the room. Off to the side there's also a table meant for wedding gifts. There is, of course, plenty of food and drink, including the most important food-item of them all: the cake Piper had crafted exactly to Xander and Bridge's specifications.

~~Despite the fact that it isn't the first thread,~~ Xander and Bridge head out to the dancefloor after a suitable amount of cake, for the first dance.

"I'd say I can't believe we actually did it, except that'd be a lie, 'cause I never doubted we would," Bridge says.

"Well- remember that time Z and I got kidnapped?"

"Vividly. Handcuffs. Horny guy. Maniacal laughter. Deep alien weirdness." She paused, then asked suspiciously, "Whyyyy?"

"There was this certain doll you stole..." Bridge continues.

Parker's jaw dropped. "Cindy Sunshine?!"

She might, possibly, have it ensconced with other trophies of People Parker Got The Better Of. Yes, it's a doll. That she stole off an evil 10-year-old. So what?

"I dunno, I kind of like knowing we did it in spite of everything," Xander says with a small smile, putting his arms around Bridge.

"True," Bridge admits. "I'm just... wow. We're an us. I mean, not that we weren't before, because we were, but now it's different."

"Uh huh," Bridge nods. "Mora was kind of mad about that, I guess. And she decided that if I was gonna take Cindy away, she'd take Xander away." He reaches up to the chain around his neck where the wedding band now resides, curling his fingers around said ring.

"I'll give the doll back," Parker said immediately. Historic Occasion, here. "If it keeps that little maniac away from you two indefinitely. Maybe I'll send it back with some nice C-4 attached. Just get me an address."

"I've got a new last name, for one thing."

"Exactly!" Bridge grins- not that he wasn't grinning before, but. "We're matchy now. I like it."

"I don't think spaceships have addresses," Bridge makes a face.

"Gaaah. I'd apologize, but I refuse to take responsibility for the actions of space psychos. I have enough problems with the ones I accumulate on my own." She shot Xander a look. "Is he okay? Are you? I mean, you seem thrilled and happy, nobody got hurt or anything?"

"We're okay," Bridge confirms, glancing over at Xander. "You'll have to ask him for the details, though," not that Bridge didn't know the whole story, since hi, psychic, but it was still Xander's story to share or not share.

"I don't have the shiny white hat, and I'm a little taller, but I think a few differences are a good thing," Xander says. "We don't want to become one of those couples that looks exactly alike and suddenly wake up and find our names are Biff and Tad and we've got matching sweaters and alligator shirts."

He watches a few too many home improvement shows, yes.

"Maybe I will." Parker shook her head. "That said?" She held up her champagne glass. "Very, very best of luck to you guys." She cleared her throat. "Two of the most comforting guys I know--" And that would be funnier when they opened her present. "--deserve each other, and all the happiness in the world."

"Cufflinks. Beach. If I'd lost them which I didn't, it'd be totally understandable."

Parker paused, took a gulp of her champagne, and pointed to Bridge. "Okay. So, you're cleared on the cufflinks. What exactly *did* happen?"

Bridge snorts. "We can be matchy without being *identical*," he points out. "Because that's just new levels of creepy and disturbing and no thanks I'm quite happy with our names and wardrobes as they are."

Xander didn't stall. He temporized. There's a difference. "What did Bridge tell you happened?"

And that'd be Bridge, reaching over to hug her after the toast.

"Apparently I shouldn't take souvenirs off psycho pre-adolescents when I help kick their asses?" Parker shook her head. "Who and why, but not what and how."

Xander shrugged. "She draws monsters to order."

"Oh, ack. And sent one after you?" Parker snagged another glass of champagne. "So the plan was to ... what, keep you until someone brought back Cindy Sunshine? I can't believe I remember the doll's name."
