Echolls Estate [Saturday Evening]

The ballroom of the mansion is done up in the same mostly-green colour scheme as the wedding ceremony. There's no assigned seating- unless you're in the wedding party, and then you're at the head table (unless you felt like moving around, of course, because gluing people to their seats was not part of the plan)- just several small tables around the room. Off to the side there's also a table meant for wedding gifts. There is, of course, plenty of food and drink, including the most important food-item of them all: the cake Piper had crafted exactly to Xander and Bridge's specifications.

Xander thought about it for a second as he reached for his own glass. "I don't think it was a hostage situation. She was just pissed; she wanted to get back at Bridge."

"Are you okay?" Parker looked at him a little more closely. "I mean. Seriously. You just got married to your guy, you're not bleeding, so I figure overall you're fine. This didn't freak you out too much?"

"My shorts wouldn't fit you anyway."

"I'm good." He took another sip, then leaned back in his hair and lowered his voice. "She messed with my head a little, yeah. But wow did she pick the wrong things to try and make me believe."

"Bitch. Bitch-ette." Parker looked contemplative, and rolled her glass between her fingers. "But not convincing, yay? Not likely stuff? Evil villain over-reaches and over-reacts?"

"Dork," Bridge says fondly. "Dork who I'm married to."

"Something like that." A little.

Parker cocked her head at him, then decided not to push him for details. Tonight was about celebrating, after all. "Then we've got one more thing to drink to, in addition to you guys' happiness. In a way, it's kind of a good omen, that you already defeated yet another bad guy - tween-ager - before it even got started."

Anders slings an arm around his best friend's shoulders, his grin fit to match Bridge's.

"Dude, I don't know what to say that everybody else hasn't yet."

"That you'll come visit us?" Granted, people had said that too. But they weren't Anders-shaped people, so.

"Oh, like that narrows it down."

"It does *so*," Bridge insists. "Even though there may be multiple yous out there. There's only one you with a ring and a name to match mine, and that makes you *my* dork."

"Duh," says Anders, with that 'you have to ask?' look. Because come on.

"I'm definitely the only dork with your name tattooed on his ass."

"Possibly not putting 'Defeated a 10 year old' on my resume, though."

"Well, actually..."

"But it's going to be hard to hold down a job when I have to take unexpected breaks to deal with demons," Wyatt said. "I pretty much figure I'll be too busy ~~ruling the world~~ with that to have a real 9-5 job."

"Well, sure. We talk these things up. 'Evil artistic genius' works better." Parker grinned and raised her champagne glass. "Here's hoping the rest of your marriage goes smoother, but has the same outcome?"

"Is there something I need to know?"

"Maybe?" Bridge says, in his very best innocent tone.

"Is there somebody I need to kill?" He sounds concerned. really.

"Granted, cadets quarters are kind of, uh. Cramped," Bridge admits. "But there's hotels and things. We'll figure something out."

"Dude, if it meant I could hang out with you guys again, I'd sleep in the park," Anders tells him. Mostly 'cause he can't afford a hotel room at the moment.

"Well, I'm just sayin'. Lots of people like bridges."

"...Probably not a good idea," Bridge says. Parks were sort of notorious for being attacked by monsters, after all.
