Pangolin A3 [Monday Afternoon]

After moving his stuff over from 227, and hanging out with his cabinmates in the common room, Bridge is currently sprawled on his bed, the curtain pulled back, and is writing in a notebook. Every once and a while, he absently tosses a ball down the cabin hallway for RIC.

Z stood outside of Bridge's alcove--SPD cadets should never enter another's quarters without permission, she remembered--and said, "Hey, Bridge."

Bridge looks up. "Hey, Z! Come on in," he says, closing the notebook and sitting up. "Have a seat, if you want." He adds, waving at the bed.

Z sat down at the end of the bed and took a deep breath before saying, "Has Commander Cruger talked to you lately?"

"No," Bridge says, and shakes his head. "Why? What's up?"

"Well, there's something you need to know and I'd really rather be the one to tell you--I got arrested. That's why I'm here."

"Arrested?" Bridge frowns. "But..." he flails a little.

"SPD pulled me and Jack in for stealing. We were trying to help people," she added quickly. "And, Commander Cruger said was this or those card thingies, so I chose this."

"And Jack... didn't?" Bridge says, still frowning a little.

"No, because Jack is kind of a moron sometimes."

"Okay. So this is... weird. I mean, I don't mean any offense, but SPD doesn't exactly make a habit of recruiting criminals..." Bridge is trying to make sense of all this.

"Yeah, I didn't think they did. Them being the police and all. But Commander Cruger said that because of our...you know, special powers, they were going to give us a chance. Well. Give me a chance."

"So. He *recruited* you because of your abilities..." Bridge says, trailing off and getting at thoughtful expression on his face.

"Well, yeah. He said something about how they needed people with, y'know, powers for some reason."

"And then he assigns you to C-Squad. Where everyone else *also* has powers," Bridge points out.

She was not jonesing for her computer, she was not jonesing for her computer. She was just very eager to make nice with Xander's boyfriend again and this just so happened to involve getting her computer back.

With this mantra firmly in place, Willow went to see Bridge.

"Yeah. Do the other squads not have powers, then?"

"No," Bridge shakes his head. "Well, I mean, no *humans* with powers, anyway."

"Hey," Willow waved back. "I came to pick up my baby."

"So it's just us? Huh. That seems kind of weird. I mean, not as weird as Cruger being like, 'You stole stuff? We'll give you a badge,' but still.

"Well, I mean, it makes a *certain* kind of sense... stick all the kids with weird powers together and it causes much less trouble for everyone," Bridge muses.

"But if they really are actively recruiting kids with weird powers...I don't know. I guess shoving all the freaks together does make sense," she said bitterly.

"It's uh..." Bridge blinks, and looks around for a second. "RIC? Laptop." A few seconds later, RIC came trotting out from under the bed, pushing Willow's laptop gently with his nose. Bridge picks it up and hands it over. "Sorry," he offers apologetically. "I think he was, um. Talking to it."

"Yeah," Bridge says. "Well, I mean, he's technically SPD property, but they let me borrow him."
