Echolls Estate [Saturday Evening]

The ballroom of the mansion is done up in the same mostly-green colour scheme as the wedding ceremony. There's no assigned seating- unless you're in the wedding party, and then you're at the head table (unless you felt like moving around, of course, because gluing people to their seats was not part of the plan)- just several small tables around the room. Off to the side there's also a table meant for wedding gifts. There is, of course, plenty of food and drink, including the most important food-item of them all: the cake Piper had crafted exactly to Xander and Bridge's specifications.

Angel had been more than willing to avoid 1) parties and 2) parties involving nice things happening to 3) Xander. But it had been made clear to him that if he avoided all gatherings this weekend there might be wooden objects in his not so distant future. So there he was. Appreciating the open bar.

"Hey, look at that," Anders said, waving at Angel as he passed. "You're not some kind of urban legend after all!"

So there was a party and Logan needed to be social and host-y, but it didn't hurt to say hi to the boyfriend first.

"Anyone die?" Angel asked. It was a Fandom wedding, you couldn't rule that kind of thing out.

Anakin wasn't one for using words when he could do the manly head nod thing instead.

So he did that at Angel. He was So Smooth.

The idea of a drink was very, very appealing, so Anakin ordered himself a whiskey--no ice, thank you--and held it in the general direction of Angel. "Here's to not having to be stuffed into a silly suit for this one," he said.

Angel could drink to that. He saluted Anakin with his own drink, then took a swallow.

"No speeches either."

He made a face. "Public speaking," he said, taking a sip from his glass, "is something I would gladly do without. Not that I'd replace it with interpretive dance or anything."

Parker wandered over and whapped him on the arm before saying, "Gin and tonic" to the bartender. "That's for missing the party last night," she told him. "Slacker."

Parker froze for a second, wide-eyed, then recovered, saying, "Well, this is true. Especially with the strippers. I have never seen you dance well, you know that?"
